Nonequilibrium transport through a quantum dot weakly coupled to Luttinger liquids

چکیده
We study the nonequlibrium transport through a quantum dot weakly coupled to Luttinger liquids (LL). A general current expression is derived by using nonequilibrium Green function method. Then a special case of the dot with only a single energy level is discussed. As a function of the dot’s energy level, we find that the current as well as differential conductance is strongly renormalized by the interaction in the LL leads. In comparison with the system with Fermi liquid (FL) leads, the current is suppressed, consistent with the suppression of the electron tunneling density of states of the LL; and the outset of the resonant tunneling is shifted to higher bias voltages. Besides, the linear conductance obtained by Furusaki using master equation can be reproduced from our result. PACS numbers:73.63.-b,71.10.Pm, 73.40.Gk, 73.23.-b,

Bistability in the Electric Current through a Quantum-Dot Capacitively Coupled to a Charge-Qubit
We investigate the electronic transport through a single-level quantum-dot which is capacitively coupled to a charge-qubit. By employing the method of nonequilibrium Green's functions, we calculate the electric current through quantum dot at finite bias voltages. The Green's functions and self-energies of the system are calculated perturbatively and self-consistently to the second order of inte...
متن کاملTransport through a double barrier in Large Radius Carbon Nanotubes in the presence of a transverse magnetic field
We discuss the Luttinger Liquid behaviour of Large Radius Carbon Nanotube e.g. the Multi Wall ones (MWNT), under the action of a transverse magnetic field B. Our results imply a reduction with B in the value of the bulk critical exponent, αbulk, for the tunneling density of states, which is in agreement with that observed in transport experiments. Then, the problem of the transport through a Qu...
متن کاملSubmergence of the Sidebands in the Photon-assisted Tunneling through a Quantum Dot Weakly Coupled to Luttinger Liquid Leads
We study theoretically the photon-assisted tunneling through a quantum dot weakly coupled to Luttinger liquids (LL) leads, and find that the zero bias dc conductance is strongly affected by the interactions in the LL leads. In comparison with the system with Fermi liquid (FL) leads, the sideband peaks of the dc conductance become blurring for 1 2 < g < 1, and finally merge into the central peak...
متن کاملNew Evidence for “Confined Coherence” in Weakly Coupled Luttinger Liquids
Based upon the calculation of the exact interliquid hopping rate and an approximate single particle Green’s function, we present new evidence for the existence of a phase of relevant but incoherent inter-Luttinger liquid transport. This phase of “confined coherence” occurs when the Luttinger liquid exponent α satisfies αc < α < 1/2. We argue that αc is strictly bounded above by 1/4, and is prob...
متن کاملTransport in Luttinger Liquids
We give a brief introduction to Luttinger liquids and to the phenomena of electronic transport or conductance in quantum wires. We explain why the subject of transport in Luttinger liquids is relevant and fascinating and review some important results on tunneling through barriers in a one-dimensional quantum wire and the phenomena of persistent currents in mesoscopic rings. We give a brief desc...
